David Pennington at Blackpool Art Society

www.penningtonart.co.uk

Really enjoyed seeing David Pennington's art for the first time at the Thursday evening lecture slot.  Not only is he a brilliant oil painter, he is a really friendly and down to earth guy.  Nice to have someone so talented local too!

Also it was nice for me to finally get back to 'a bit of normality' by getting back to the art society - I've had to miss so many sessions due to all the deadlines at University for the final degree stuff (+ the Buxton Fringe Festival).  So it was nice to see familiar faces again - except when they all turned round to clap me in congratulations for getting my  degree!! - (there is a reason why I sit at the back!!) - (Thanks Carole for that!!!!! - I will have to get my own back later!)

Submission accepted for the Free for Arts Festival - hooray

http://www.freeforartsfestival.co.uk

Heard (last week) that my submission for the Free for Arts Festival has been accepted.  The event runs from 30 September - 7 October in Manchester.
- will keep updating when I have more info - just waiting for the organiser/curator to send further details.
My submission was my recent graduate art work, but feel it was more my ethos/statement that interested them, maybe? (or maybe they'd just got too many bare walls!)

3 photos of sun setting en-route to Blackpool (from Buxton Fringe) - simply stunning

Countdown to next performance of Fragments by Stephen Wymark at Buxton Fringe

.....just some flowers

picked some flowers (and probably weeds!) from the garden today - just for me.

FYLDECAP at MARSH MILL

Submitted some of my work to the FyldeCap exhibition at Marsh Mill - a place where local artists of all levels/backgrounds can come together to display their work in an informal, friendly venue.

BUXTON FRINGE - STEPHEN WYMARK

http://2011.undergroundvenues.co.uk/shows/fragments

Stephen did his first night at the Buxton Fringe on Thursday 7th - it went really well.  The space is very intimate and has its own challenges, but due to the nature of the play and Stephens professional ability to adapt, maintained the essence of what he wanted to accomplish. All the audience were spellbound.

Also a huge congratulations to all my colleagues: Sue Godsiff, Alistair Parker, Anton Bryne-Carter, Sue McAuley, James Whyham, Sam Simpson, Becky Armitage, Jeannine Holloway, Claire Heaton, Roy Sutter and Fiona Simpson

Well done to all of you too, you are all very talented artists, so continue to believe in yourselves - I have made some very good friends from this and I wish everyone all the best of success, happiness and good health.  I hope we will all continue to keep in touch - also with the view to doing some joint exhibitions.

Hooray, I got a first!

HOORAY FOR ME - I got a first class honours degree! Wow, never thought I'd make it and I did.  It might sound rather big headed of me (and that is the furthest from the truth!) only I know the obstacles that I have jumped, hopped and fallen over and I have come out the other end. Believe me, if I can do it anybody can do it - and I really mean that.  Just take a day at a time.  As Susan Jeffers says ....
"feel the fear and do it anyway!" - and I did!

Here is my other blogsite - http://anncharlesworth.blogspot.com

This is my other blogsite, which is the more serious, professional one, showing my art work only.
I find it is important at this stage to separate my comments from my art and to collate all my recent work, especially my graduate work, so that it can stand on its own for inspection, commercial enquiry and as a place where I can be proud of what I have achieved, both creatively and personally.
