BLACKPOOL AND FYLDE COLLEGE DEGREE SHOW - ANN CHARLESWORTH

And of course as it's my blogsite, mine should have it's own entry.
Here goes.....
ANN CHARLESWORTH

BLACKPOOL AND FYLDE COLLEGE DEGREE SHOW

Hoooooray! Our final degree show has arrived.
(as usual, I should have posted this before the event - tut, tut!)
After many many years, well three actually, finally this is a representation of all our hard work and denotes the direction that our art is going to take over the next few years.

I wish all success to my fellow colleagues and hope that their journey continues to be as rewarding and life enhancing as mine has been.  Remember sometimes it is the path that is least trodden, that brings the greatest rewards. Keep your energy positive and continue challenging yourself and being creative and you will find your own path.

Here are some selected highlights.....

Talking Walls

Just collected the unsold pieces (ah) from Talking Walls Studio. I'm actually glad that I got one of them back because I really do like it enough to actually hang it on my wall (and I'm my own worse critic, believe me!) The other one I shall review and maybe work back into it (after all, it's no longer that scary white canvas that screams paint me)!

Restless - Saatchi where are you?

Having been and seen and done now has left me restless.  You get a taste of what it's like in 'the real art world' (well just Manchester for now) and it makes you want more.  Why isn't our degree show going on to another prestigious gallery on the back of this? Why didn't Saatchi come rushing through the doors and buy it all up?
But back to the real world (with a thud!) - I am desperate to find somewhere where I can create -  consider larger scaled work, even darker more moody stuff, somewhere to be free just to explore and be me.
I use my art to communicate, so it's time to start being noticed and heard! ....(sounds like a plan, but need a beer first!)

On my way to Cube to invigilate exhibition

Four hours later after this photo was taken, it's all been taken down and the gallery walls have returned to bare white just as we found them.  I call it 'de-cubed'.  The other shows are on their way to showing in London, whilst the Fine Art 'masterpieces' make their way back for the end of year show at Blackpool and Fylde University Centre.  A job well done!

The CUBE (preview evening) - BLACKPOOL and FYLDE COLLEGE DEGREE SHOW

A really interesting evening and a great atmosphere as we all came together to celebrate our creativity at our exhibition for our degree show -   (the 3 years seem to have flown by - got a few battle scars to prove I did it though!)

THE CUBE - set up (day one)

Arranging the lay-out after unloading the van and prising the masterpieces out of their carefully cocooned bubblewrap!
Me at work (organising as usual!)

Good job I'm not doing a newsletter!

Oh boy - what a good job I'm not being responsible for doing a newsletter, 'coz all the information would be out of date!
It's so difficult juggling all the admin things with deadlines, exhibition set-ups, submitting statements etc etc that actually telling people gets neglected - Whoops! (maybe I need an agent/admin assistant -  or at least a desk that isn't disorganised!)
